I am a 24 year old feminine and feminist poet living in Las Vegas, NV. My poetry is the attempt to incarnate abstract human emotion and reach deeper truths about myself and the world around me. I write auto-biographical and social justice oriented poetry that centers around issues of gender and sexuality politics while drawing on my own experiences and the experiences of those I have been fortunate enough to meet.
Outside of writing poetry, I am a full time special education teacher. I love hiking, traveling, watching plot-driven movies and tv, reading, and exploring local Las Vegas social scenes. I wrote my first novel at 11, and have been posting online writing (blogs, fiction, non-fiction, and yes, fanfiction) for the past 10 years. I have an honors Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut and Masters of Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. All views expressed in my poetry are solely mine, and do not reflect the above educational institutions or place of work.
My dream is to create art and work that is meaningful to others. I am aspiring to publish my work to share it with a larger audience. If there’s any time left, I also hope to pursue a PhD, inspire other woman of my generation to be politically active, and finish the Game of Thrones series.
